The Truth About Explant Recovery

Healing and recovering from an explant surgery *could* take YEARS.

Explanting is not always the cure.

You will most likely need additional treatments after surgery to help get things back in order, balanced and strong.

And that’s ok.

How fast or slow you recover is dependent upon how sick you were at the time of your explant, how severe your symptoms were, and if you have other factors like:

• The MTHFR gene mutation,

• Autoimmune diseases,

• Herpes viruses like Epstein Barr Virus, herpes simplex and chronic fatigue,

• Lyme,

• Active infections,

• Weakened immune system,

Even saying this, it might NOT take you years.

My experience was I felt better almost immediately.

I felt clearer/sharper in my head,

I had more sustained energy,

My hip joint pain went away,

My vision was better,

My hair loss slowed down,

My face and scalp produced oils,

My mood seemed to stable,

… all within the first few days after removing my 12-year old, silicone gel filled breast implants.

Even saying this, I’m now 40 years old (I was 35 at the time of my explant) and dealing with hormonal imbalances and Candida (mild toe nail fungus).

For me personally, I believe that I’m better equipped to overcome these minor issues faster and easier because my body’s not fighting two toxic foreign objects that are full of toxins anymore.

💯 Your body is healthier and will be healthier without breast implants. #facts

We all now know that breast implants may negatively impact our hormones, neurological system, cardiovascular system, lymphatic system, immune system, digestive system, and mental health.

IF YOURE GETTING READY TO EXPLANT (or if you just did), I recommend having zero expectations about how fast you should be healing and how soon you should be feeling better.

Because it might be longer. And that’s ok!

Your body is on your side.

Your body is healing as we speak.

Your body is doing the best that she can.

If you’re healing slower than you thought you would be, there’s nothing wrong with you.

We’re all so different on the recovery side of the journey.

Be patient with your body.

Find gratitude in all the small wins.

Be so proud of yourself for putting your health before vanity.

And remember,

Beauty standards are flawed – not you.
